Mr Omar Ahmed is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with specialist expertise in head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery and the management of neck lumps. He treats a wide range of adult and paediatric ear, nose and throat conditions, providing expert care from diagnosis through to treatment.

Following advanced fellowship training at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Liverpool University Hospitals, two of the UK’s foremost centres for head and neck and thyroid surgery, Mr Ahmed provides expert assessment and treatment for a wide range of ENT, thyroid and head and neck conditions. He combines specialist surgical expertise with the latest evidence-based techniques, including minimally invasive, laser and robotic-assisted surgery.

Mr Omar Ahmed graduated from Alexandria University Medical School in 2011 before completing specialist ENT training at Alexandria Main University Hospital, one of the region’s largest tertiary referral centres. Following his move to the UK, he joined East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, where he worked as a Specialty Doctor before undertaking advanced fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgery.

To further develop his subspecialist expertise, Mr Ahmed completed a prestigious Head and Neck Oncology Fellowship at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), one of the UK’s leading centres for head and neck cancer care. During this time, he gained extensive experience in the management of complex benign and malignant head and neck conditions. He subsequently completed a Senior Post-CCT Fellowship in Head and Neck and Thyroid Surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals, where he further advanced his expertise in thyroid, parathyroid and head and neck surgery.

In 2025, Mr Ahmed was appointed Consultant ENT, Head & Neck and Thyroid Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of adult and paediatric ear, nose and throat conditions, with specialist interests in thyroid and parathyroid disease, neck lumps, salivary gland disorders, voice and laryngeal conditions, and head and neck cancer surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Ahmed is actively involved in research, education and surgical training. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented his work at national and international meetings, and regularly contributes to regional and national training programmes. His doctoral research focuses on surgical and functional outcomes following parathyroid surgery across different parathyroid gland disorders.

Growing up in a medical family inspired Mr Ahmed’s passion for healthcare and shaped his commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.
