Sussex Premier Health, Hastings: Important update for patients with upcoming appointments
At Sussex Premier Health, our Therapy Services team combines specialist Physiotherapy and Osteopathy expertise to diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of conditions.
We offer fast access to appointments, helping you return to the activities that matter most.
Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function, reduce pain, and support recovery following injury, illness, surgery, or long-term health conditions. Our Chartered Physiotherapists provide expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment, creating personalised rehabilitation programmes to help you regain confidence, improve mobility, and return to the activities that matter most to you.
Our experienced Osteopaths specialise in diagnosing and treating problems affecting the muscles, joints, ligaments and spine. Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that recognises the close relationship between the body’s structure and function, helping to support the body’s natural ability to heal and maintain wellbeing.
Using hands-on techniques, Osteopaths assess, diagnose and treat restrictions and dysfunction within the musculoskeletal system. Treatment may include stretching, massage, gentle manipulation and mobilisation of muscles, soft tissues and joints to help reduce pain, improve movement and restore function.
Alongside manual treatment, our Osteopaths provide personalised advice on lifestyle, posture, movement and self-management strategies to help prevent recurrence and support long-term health.
Using hands-on treatment alongside movement advice and self-management techniques, our Osteopaths work closely with you to improve mobility, reduce discomfort and help you return to the activities you enjoy with confidence.
Our experienced therapy team is dedicated to helping you achieve your health, wellbeing and recovery goals. Working across a range of specialties, our therapists provide expert assessment, treatment and rehabilitation tailored to your individual needs. Learn more about our team and the specialist care they provide.
At your first appointment, one of our Chartered Physiotherapists or General Osteopathic Council-regulated Osteopaths will take a detailed medical history and carry out a thorough assessment of your condition. This allows us to understand your symptoms, identify the underlying cause of your problem, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. Please allow up to one hour for your initial appointment.
You may find it helpful to bring a pair of shorts or a vest top, as your therapist may need to assess the area affected by your condition and observe how you move.
Following your assessment, you will receive expert advice and, where appropriate, treatment during the same appointment. We will also provide personalised recommendations, exercises and self-management strategies to support your recovery and help you achieve the best possible outcome.
Both physiotherapy and osteopathy are highly personalised treatments. Your therapist may recommend specific exercises, movement advice or lifestyle modifications designed to improve function, reduce pain and support long-term wellbeing. Some exercises or techniques may cause mild discomfort during treatment, but this is usually temporary and should settle quickly.
The length of your recovery will depend on the nature and severity of your condition. To maximise the benefits of your treatment, it is important to follow the advice and exercise programme provided by your therapist.
Follow-up appointments typically last up to 30 minutes and allow us to monitor your progress, review your treatment plan and make any necessary adjustments. With your consent, our therapists can liaise with your GP or other healthcare professionals involved in your care and, where appropriate, provide a detailed discharge summary at the end of your treatment.
If further investigation is required, your therapist may recommend diagnostic imaging, including X-ray, CT or MRI scans, to help inform your diagnosis and treatment plan.
You can contact our Therapy team directly to arrange an appointment, or you may wish to referred by your consultant or GP.
If you are claiming on your insurance, a GP referral may be required as part of your claim form.
