Dr Rahul Mukherjee is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. He qualified at University College London and completed his cardiology training at the leading tertiary centres in London including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and St George’s Hospital. He completed a PhD at King’s College London where he developed a system to perform catheter ablation for complex heart rhythm disturbances using MRI guidance. He has special expertise in heart rhythm disturbances including the investigation and management of atrial fibrillation, supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial flutter, ventricular ectopics (extra/ premature heart beats) and ventricular tachycardia. He regularly performs catheter ablation procedures as well as permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implantation.

He also has expertise in general cardiology including the investigation and management of chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts (syncope), leg swelling, extra (ectopic) heart beats as well as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. His philosophy is simple – every patient deserves expert care in trusted hands and his approach is guided by curiosity, discipline, compassion and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

He also has special expertise in cardiac MRI and is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital where he undertakes cardiac MRI scanning. His dual focus on complex arrhythmia and advanced imaging allows him to diagnose and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.

He is very active in research and regularly collaborates with both academic institutions and industry to ensure that his patients can access the latest cutting-edge technology improve their heart health. He has an extensive research track record having published >40 peer-reviewed publications, received national awards in recognition of his academic contributions and has regularly been invited to speak at the major international cardiac conferences.

Whether you are seeking reassurance, diagnosis or specialist treatment, Dr Mukherjee is dedicated to helping you take the next step towards better heart health.
