Dr Oana Anton is a Consultant Paediatrician with over 15 years of experience in paediatrics and specialist expertise in paediatric allergy and respiratory medicine. She leads the Children’s Allergy Service at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, where “the largest part of the outpatients clinics are seeing Paediatric Allergy and Respiratory Clinics” (CV).

She brings strong academic and educational leadership as an RCPCH College Tutor and Foundation Year 2 Lead, with a proven track record as Principal Investigator for national asthma studies and recognition as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer (“I have been awarded a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer award by Brighton and Sussex Medical School”).

Dr Oana Anton has over 15 years of continuous paediatric clinical experience, working across general paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric intensive care and respiratory medicine before specialising as a Consultant Paediatrician. Since 2021, she has led a high‑volume paediatric allergy and respiratory service where the largest part of the outpatients clinics are seeing Paediatric Allergy and Respiratory Clinics.

Across her consultant career, she has assessed and managed thousands of children with food allergies, eczema, anaphylaxis, asthma, preschool wheeze and chronic respiratory symptoms, providing skin prick testing, personalised allergy plans, milk and food ladder guidance, and emergency anaphylaxis management. Her practice reflects a strong commitment to safe, evidence‑based, child‑centred care.

Dr Oana Anton leads the Children’s Allergy Service at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, shaping a high‑quality, patient‑centred paediatric allergy pathway. She also serves as the RCPCH College Tutor and previously led the Enhance Programme, strengthening postgraduate education and multidisciplinary training across the Trust. In her current role as Foundation Year 2 Lead, she oversees the development and support of junior doctors, ensuring a positive and effective training environment.

Dr Oana Anton is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, a position she has held since 2020. She teaches medical students, supervises research projects, and contributes to assessments and formal teaching programmes.

She is actively involved in clinical research and serves as Principal Investigator for several national paediatric asthma studies, including SPIROMAC and CARE‑UK, helping to bring the latest evidence into everyday clinical practice.

Her background spans general paediatrics, neonatology, PICU and respiratory medicine, giving her a broad and confident clinical foundation. Above all, she is committed to providing safe, evidence‑based, compassionate care for children and supporting families with clarity and reassurance.
