Mr Henry Willmott

I am a specialist foot and ankle surgeon. My orthopaedic training was at King’s College Hospital London and various hospitals in Kent and Sussex.

My specialist interests include bunion correction, treatment of metatarsalgia, heel pain and tendon disorders, flat foot deformity and tendon reconstruction, ankle instability, sporting injuries and arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle including ankle replacement.

I did a Foot and Ankle Speciality Fellowship at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. I was awarded a British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship which allowed me to work at The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington DC. Here I learnt cutting edge techniques in foot and ankle and trauma surgery. I undertook a further period of specialist training at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, gaining experience in the latest generation of ankle replacements. I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Conquest Hospital in 2015.

I am the author of ‘Trauma and Orthopaedics At A Glance’, a major text book for junior doctors. I have undertaken research into the use of new devices for fusion of bones in the foot. My results have been presented at national meetings and I won a prize for this work in 2014. I also teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support to doctors nationwide.
