I am currently a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. I am also the lead for the Diabetic Retinal Screening service for East Sussex. Prior to moving to the south coast I was a locum Consultant Ophthalmologist for Imperial College in London.
My interests include cataract surgery and disorders of the retina including vein occlusions, diabetes and age related macular degeneration. I perform retinal and YAG laser, as well as intravitreal injections.
I completed my schooling at The Perse School, Cambridge and graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London. My extensive and comprehensive ophthalmology training was in London, namely at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Imperial College.
I completed my subspecialty training in medical retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital. During this time I developed a keen interest in complex cataract surgery and took an active and passionate role in teaching junior eye surgeons. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
I spent two years of my training fully dedicated to research at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, which led to the award of a postgraduate research degree MD(res).
I have a strong academic interest having published extensively in medical journals, and have presented my work at international meetings.
