December 2022

In February 2023 Mr Shahram Kashani, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise £10,000 for Kent Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance.

Back in May 2015, Mr Kashani’s daughter suffered from a ruptured spleen after an accidental fall from a climbing frame. She was only 7 years old at that time.

As a result of her fall, she needed emergency treatment at the scene by a Kent Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance Charity doctor and paramedic. Ayla was subsequently air lifted to St George’s Hospital trauma centre in London. She was the first child in the UK to be given a plasma transfusion on route to the trauma centre.

As a thank you, Mr Kashani is planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to raise £10,000 for Kent Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance in Feb 2023. Mr Kashani is funding the cost of the trip himself, with all donations going directly to Kent Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance Charity.
