John Pereira is a Consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon who considers his job to be about helping people to achieve a better quality of life by an understanding of their problems and a thoughtful application of surgical techniques.

Mr Pereira was born and educated in Suffolk, and in 1986 he started his medical training at Guy’s Hospital in London.  After completing his general surgical training, he was appointed to the Thames Regional Specialist Training Programme in Plastic Surgery.

He is fully trained in the UK and on the specialist register of the General Medical Council. He is a member UKAAPS (UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).  He attends international meetings annually to bring the best techniques and innovations to his busy practice.

Mr Pereira was a full time Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead NHS trust, before reducing his NHS commitment to spend more time treating patients in his own practice. With over 20 years of Consultant experience, and a huge number of procedures performed, John has been working locally on the south coast for the last 15 years, looking after patients based in Kent, Sussex and Surrey as well as clients from all over the UK and Europe.

Mr Pereira continues to be passionate about achieving safe and reliable results of surgery in all his patients in an honest, informed and comfortable environment. He likes to separate hype from fact when assessing and offering new treatments to his patients. He has a busy and successful practice based upon reputation and quality of care. He is regularly the surgeon of choice for doctors and their families as well as nursing staff who have seen his patients and their results. He is proud that he has achieved that level of confidence in his peers. Mr Pereira’s patients range from titled ladies to the lady next door and he treats everyone with the same kindness, respect, care and understanding. The decision to undergo surgery is a big one to take. The decision to discuss it is easy – so why not come along for a consultation and find out if his knowledge and expertise can help you achieve your goals.

Mr Pereira’s subspecialty interests include Cosmetic Surgery of the face, brow, neck and eyelids as well as Cosmetic surgery of the breast and abdomen.  He has a mix of male and female patients in his practice.

Mr Pereira has been involved in many radio and television programmes including Sky’s Extreme Makeover and My Naked Secret and CH4’s popular Embarrassing Bodies show.
