Men’s Health Week 2025
Supporting Men to Live Healthier, Happier Lives
Men’s Health Week is an annual awareness campaign that shines a light on the health challenges men face and encourages early action, open conversations, and healthier choices.
What Is Men’s Health Week?
Men’s Health Week was created to:
- Raise awareness of preventable health problems that disproportionately affect men.
- Encourage men to engage with their health early.
- Promote healthy lifestyles through education, screenings, and support.
2025 Theme: “We Need a Men’s Health Strategy”
This year’s theme focuses on the urgent need for a dedicated national strategy to tackle rising rates of:
- Early death in men (1 in 5 dies before age 65)
- Suicide (3 out of 4 suicides are men)
- Late diagnosis of cancer and chronic conditions
It’s time for men’s health to be recognised, resourced, and prioritised.
How You Can Get Involved
Here’s how to support Men’s Health Week in your home, workplace, or community:
Know Your Numbers
- Blood Pressure: Aim for below 140/90 mmHg. High BP can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
- Cholesterol: Know your HDL (“good”) and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol.
- Blood Sugar (Glucose): Especially important if you’re at risk of diabetes.
- BMI & Waist Measurement: Indicators of overall risk.
Stand Shoulder to Shoulder – We’re stronger together.
Mental health is a team effort. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, joining a support group, or asking for help, connection is key.
Try This:
- Schedule regular catchups with friends.
- Join a class or community event.
- Volunteer – giving back is great for your mood.
Start a conversation with friends, family, or colleagues about mental health.
Small Steps, Big Wins for Men’s Wellbeing
Getting active doesn’t have to mean hitting the gym or running a marathon. For Men’s Health Week 2025, we’re encouraging men everywhere to Move More — in simple, achievable ways that boost physical and mental wellbeing.
- Reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes
- Supports weight management and improves energy levels
- Boosts mood and reduces anxiety, depression, and stress
- Improves sleep and brain function
