National Self-Care Week: Mind and Body
A Moment to Prioritise Yourself

Self-Care: Taking Time to Rebalance
At Sussex Premier Health, we believe that caring for yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself and to others. National Self-Care Week: Mind and Body is a reminder that your wellbeing deserves time, attention and care. Take time to pause, breathe and do something that helps you feel calm, energised and balanced. Finding what self-care works for you, trying different things and finding what makes you feel good. Let’s all take a moment to check in with ourselves and make our wellbeing a daily priority.
Why this matters:
- The week is organised by the Self Care Forum.
- It emphasises the importance of enabling people to take more control of their health both physically and mentally.
- The 2025 theme, “Mind and Body”, invites us to focus on both our mental and physical health, especially through movement, connection, and positive daily habits.
Caring for Your Mind:
Life can be busy so it’s important to take moments to pause and reset. Here are a few ways to support your mental wellbeing during day to day:
- Take time to rest: Give yourself permission to slow down and recharge.
- Stay connected: Talking to friends, family, or colleagues can ease loneliness and lift your mood.
- Practise mindfulness: Even five minutes of breathing or quiet reflection can make a difference.
- Get outside: Spending time in nature is proven to boost mood and reduce anxiety.
Caring for Your Body:
Our physical health and mental wellbeing are deeply linked. Looking after your body helps your mind feel stronger too. Here are a few ways that can make a real difference:
- Eat well: Choose balanced meals that nourish your body and fuel your day.
- Stay active: Regular movement, even gentle exercise like walking or stretching, improves mood and energy.
- Sleep well: Prioritise rest and set a regular bedtime routine.
- Stay hydrated: It’s easy to forget, but water plays a big part in how we feel physically and mentally.
- Vitamin D: especially in the darker months, ensure you’re getting enough sunlight. Sunlight is limited and it supports mood and immunity.
