The new service, run by Dr David Neal, Consultant Gastroenterologist offers patients access to a consultation, gastroscopy and *results – all in one visit.
A gastroscopy can help diagnose and monitor a range of conditions, including:
- Anaemia (low blood iron levels)
- Cancer
- Digestive conditions such as Coeliac disease, Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD, Indigestion, Stomach ulcers)
- Heartburn
- Helicobacter infection
- Inflammation
- Polyps — non-cancerous growths that can later become cancerous

* Results may take longer if specimens are taken as these can sometimes take 2-3 weeks to come back. If this is the case, a follow up consultation will be booked for you to discuss your results when they are back.
